Checked through the admin console and didn't see anything.  Probably a mod that would have to be installed.

well he could make sure his post notifications are turned on. then when he receives the mail notification that could be saved in a file.

you can email a thread to yourself, maybe easier to search a folder in your email box.

I usually look at threads I have posted replies in. That might not work good for the "lurkers" though...

Over time I have seen threads that have  info I can use or will need only to forget the thread title. Also thread titles don't always tell the whole story of what may develop in a discussion. Just thought I would ask incase there was something I wasn't aware of thanks.

I know this is a feature on some other forums, but the other suggestions work just as well.

Clicking "Mark Unread" will make that thread stay in the "unread posts" queue. It's not permanent - if you open the thread, you need to click it again to keep the thread as "unread". Not as useful as a permanent bookmark, but handy for times when I want to reply later or ask a follow-up question but coan't get to it right away.

Checked through the admin console and didn't see anything.  Probably a mod that would have to be installed.

A quick search of the SMF site showed several mods available to add this feature:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=485528.0
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/?mod=864

I have no experience as an SMF admin, so I don't know how much work this would be to add or what problems may result. But it sounds like a handy feature to consider  :)
