Dearborn 66 - Aug Built Paint Related Questions
« on: December 27, 2015, 02:50:16 PM »
Hello friends,
I'm restoring, in the original standards, a Hardtop 1966 and need help with the following information:
1) The color of the wheel arch protection and the floor is the same as the outside?
2) The internal color of the floor is the same as the outside?
3) The internal color of the trunk is the same as the outside?

Thanks for your attention

Welcome to the site.

Didn't include where the car was built and when (month some times helps) but should be ok this time since their pretty basic questions though one or two of the questions really need the details to answer them correctly and fully

Hello friends,
I'm restoring, in the original standards, a Hardtop 1966 and need help with the following information:
1) The color of the wheel arch protection and the floor is the same as the outside?

Yes & No

Guess your asking about the sound deadener applied to the rear wheel well - If so its painted mostly exterior body color.

The floor color depends on where and when the car was built. Then over that you should have overspray from the body color application - more on the outer edge, reducing as it moves inward. If you use the search you should find a handful of in depth responses and pictures from earlier posts. Play ALLOT of attention to when and where the car in question was built for comparison and proper application

2) The internal color of the floor is the same as the outside?

Again answered in other posts but basically a mixture of direct and overspray from the door jamb and exterior application on those areas not masked off (interior paint applier prior to this step)  from the application. What is direct and indirect (overspray) is logical based on what surfaces are near by and in direct line with the spray gun. Lower surfaces verses surfaces that are up and above (like the bottom of the roof, where little if any overspray would have normally traveled

3) The internal color of the trunk is the same as the outside?

Basically yes. Nothing installed except the quarter panel extensions (loosely and slightly spaced outward on some applications - not on others)  and rear bumper guard brackets if a non-GT

Take some time and read older posts. IF they are very old ask if they are still relevant today but in general this should provide the answer to allot of your questions to stgart out

Try this again

1) The color of the wheel arch protection and the floor is the same as the outside?

Rear wheel well

Floor - guess your referring to undercarriage. The floor from the bottom of the car.
No different color from the exterior though some overspray from painting the exterior flowed onto the floor mostly along the edges (sides) and the openings (rear wheel wells)

2) The internal color of the floor is the same as the outside?

After the dash, doors and a pillars were painted the interior color

Some overspray from painting the exterior could coat (mostly the floors) the interior panels. A little or allot

3) The internal color of the trunk is the same as the outside?

Yes on most visible surfaces

Hello,
The original color of my car's F-Arcadian blue.
There are specific codes for this color, PPG and Dupont manufacturers?
You can send me one color ship? What is the cost?

I thank you for the attention.
Hug.

We're just here to help you'll need to locate a provider in this country and see if they can ship it as it likely will be classified as Hazardous

I would start with Auto Color Library http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ unless someone else has already gone through this process with that particular color
