Am I losing my mind?? Trying to find a C6 speedometer cable

Ok, I think I'm losing it!!

I have my original cable P/N  C9ZF-17260-B Printed directly on it.
The cable came out of my '69 Cougar built 4/2/69 With the 428cj and C6 transmission.

The ford MPC states that the replacement service part is  C9ZZ-17260-B and has a length of 63.5 inches.

Every website I look on says that the C9ZZ-17260-B cable is for a 4-speed aplication and is 76 inches long.
I can't find a 63.5" cable for sale anywhere.
Does a reproduction of this cable exist?????
And why does every parts depot have the part number wrong??

Here's what's in the MPC

C9ZZ-17260-A (4-Speed) 66.5" (w/out 3.91/4.30 with 3.91/4.30)
C9ZZ-17260-B (C6) 63.5"
C9ZZ-17260-C (3 speed, C4, CM) 56"
C9ZZ-17260-D (Speed control module)
C9ZZ-17260-F (4-speed) 3.91 /4.30 with adapter 70"
C9ZZ-17260-G (C6) 3.91/4.30 with adapter 58"

They were back and forth using the adapter with the 4-speeds using the 3.91/4.30 gears - so cars with out the adapter used C9ZZ-17260-A cars with the adapter used C9ZZ-17260-F

I got mine from bill at Mansfield mustang, 58" fits perfectly. Reproduction part, but originals are priced only for the rich or stupid.

You have to be careful of some of the Ford versions. Later service cables used a gray case instead of a black like assemblyline . Many have tried to dye the gray black but it rubs off easily  and lloks terrible . Better to use a nice repro like Mansfield sells then a painted genuine one IMO.

Some black service cables also used a grey gromment instead of black.  V-code some of the lengths are wrong as a  gear reducer cable is shorter than the longer non gear reducer cable that bolts into tailshaft. The c9zz-b  nos cables were hard to find years ago as I think ford serviced the A cable longer as a 1 size fits all.  Its mainly the way these cables were incorrectly routed & factory holders not being used or broken when someone worked on the car & cables & reverse wires got cooked from h-pipe. Ford never serviced the assembly line holders & repos or replacements are incorrect mainly the manual cable floorpan holders got broke when removed. I sent a set of these (years ago to deadnutson) to have made but never got done. Dan Carpenter did made the firewall metal strap cable holder. This would be a good article for Marcus or somebody to do as its a common problem over the years since the speedo cable & reverse wire routing varied according to trans type & assembly manual isn't clear about firewall to floorpan routings & correct holders. I did have (eddie) 10 years ago make the special manual trans reverse wire holder by shifter plate that fits 67-70 cars.

Yes I think some of lengths are typos in the MPC.
