I'm in the process of restoring a 1969 Metuchen built sports roof, the build date is May 6th. The car was built with manual drum brakes and when I got the car it had been switched to manual disc brakes. I want to return it to original and I'd like to find the answers to the follow questions:
1. Is the master cylinder different for drum brake cars and disc brake cars?
2. I believe the proportioning valves are different.....so can someone supply a picture of a drum brake proportioning valve?

Yes. Drum brakes p/n C9AZ-2140-D.

2. I believe the proportioning valves are different.....so can someone supply a picture of a drum brake proportioning valve?

I believe you are looking for a distribution block. Proportioning valves are used with disc brakes to provide a lower pressure to the rear brakes during initial braking. You need C8ZZ-2C257-B (note: it's common to 68 and 69 Mustang drum applications). It does have provisions for the brake light warning switch.

No visible external proportioning valve like we see on the power disc brakes and the like - attached to the distribution block on those applications

Don't know if there is one, if its built into the distribution block or located at the rear like the earlier (think not) cars

Here is a clear shot of what it looks like from a few I have on my bench.  I can take pictures showing them mounted on the extra cars if needed.

These are just distribution blocks on the drum brakes and there is no proportioning valve.  The plunger inside of them activates the brake light switch in case you lose fluid in the front or rear.  Pretty simple on these.
