1972 Folding Seat support bumpers
« on: December 03, 2015, 05:41:59 PM »
Trying to find the correct part number and appearence of the original folding seat bumpers that support the curved section of seat when in the upright position.  I have seen the 69-70 that is reproduced, but nothing in the 71-73 generation.  Some feedback has been that it is the same bumper that is used for the hood.  I am not sure if these were installed to address problems during the cars life or if truly what came from the factory.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

According to the 71-72 (and 73) Mustang Body Assembly Manual, page N-700-6, the bumper is the same as the one used in 1967, C7ZB-6362426. The 75 MPC has a C6ZZ-6362426-A for a replacement for 65 and on. To further complicate usage, NPD states that "70-73 used 2 different styles indiscriminately". In the manuals, the 66 style is shown shaped like a boot, the 71-72 style is shown as a round disc, almost like a hood bumper.
