66 200 I6 courtesy lights
« on: December 02, 2015, 04:03:51 PM »
Hi,

just to answer how many courtesy lights had the 66 200ci SIX standard trim.
I found one bulb socket under the dash (or under the glove box), just in front of the passengers seat.
Haven't seen nor find any other place for the matter.
Thanks.

There should be a second one located approximately under the ignition switch area under the dash.

FYI, there is no interior trim tied to the engine option for 65-66 that I am aware of.

Josep,
There may be wiring information in the library section of this forum that will help you. A few minutes ago, I used the Yahoo search feature entering "1966 mustang wiring" (the search engine added diagram) and it came back with a lot of diagrams and other info. Also, consider getting a set of Mustang Assembly Manuals for your year car, 1966. They have many answers to questions you haven't even thought of yet. They are copies of original Ford assembly line drawings - Body; Interior; Electrical; Engine Accessories. Also, the 64-65 Chassis is helpful although it's not for your year.

Hi guys,

I wanna ask you how many factory courtesy lights had my standard pony..?
I found a bulb socket under the dash (no bulb), or under the glove box. Haven't seen any other nor in any other place, so 1 should be the answer.? I just put a bulb and it worked.!

There would be 2 under-dash lights as standard for all 65-66 no matter the options.

Thanks Charles.!
So, the second one's place to be is in front of the drivers seat.? Any place to check for the correct place to fit.?
I can't see any bracket nor a socket from the drivers position.

Jeff, please, what should be the replacement part for the missing courtesy light..?
I have found this bracket but think I need something else to connect wires to the bulb.
Thanks

The lamp socket has some exterior prongs that will fit snugly into the large hole of that bracket.

The lamp socket and associated wiring are integral to the 1966 underdash harness.  I can salvage one for you from my supply of cores.
