Oil dipstick not original

Hi all,

I have noted that the oil dipstick in my 66 pony 200 inline six is not the original.
It's a complete circle red painted with the letters "WARRANTY REQUIRES SE/101-C OIL FORD E8AJ-6750-AA",
So, I don't believe it's the factory one. And regarding this, do it have the correct length to read the right oil level..?
What length should this dipstick have..? Thanks

This part number is for the service part, the correct original dipstick would have a different number. But the listing includes the measurements you need.

It looks like you have a service dipstick that should be functional (but not factory original) for your application.

Here is an ebay listing for an NOS C2DZ-B, with a Ford P/N tag, and is stamped E8AJ-AA:

Thanks very much for your help.! I have already ordered a original dipstick so soon I will have it to replace.!

Part number in the attached paper is C2DZ-6750-B, but also says that numbers stamped in the the stick itself are
E8AJ-6750-AA, just like mine. Note that color is bare metal and mine is red painted.

Yep, that's why I sent it  ;)   Not uncommon for a part, even decades newer (1988 in this case) to be used to service a different application.

Many parts designed for a 1966 Mustang typically start with C6Z_, but in this case the small I-6 engines were considered "Falcon" engines. Falcon parts used "D" as the third letter. And these parts potentially predate Mustangs. In this specific case, the original dipstick number may have been C2DE-B, but that's an educated guess and more research will be required to confirm. Or, I can go out to my garage when I get home from work and see what number is on the dipstick of the '66 200 engine I have...  ;)

Four things for consideration:

1. Not all parts used on a Mustang were designed for the Mustang.  This is what Dave is referring to.  Although there is always room for exceptions, part numbers were generally assigned based on the first use case.  If a part from a 62 Falcon worked for a 64 Mustang, it would be used, and continue to be used until there was a reason not to.  I think that the ignition points are a B* (1950's) part number.

2. Parts designed for the Mustang in 1964 would have a C4 number.  If there was no change needed for later years, the part would be classified as a "carry over".  For those that work at Ford, there is no money budgeted to even think about a carry over part. 

3. When the Cougar was introduced, there were plenty of Mustang parts used there.

4. When body parts were common for coupe, convertible, and fastback, they would get the coupe (65) designation, but used across the board.

I checked the dipstick I have. It does not have a part number stamped anywhere. It does have an oval "FoMoCo" (not "Ford") about 4" from the tip. The handle is formed from flat stock, not round. It looks like the one in the attached photo.

The logo is not visible in this photo. One of the other photos in the auction this was taken from shows a rectangular "FoMoCo" logo, which I believe indicates it was made in '68 or possibly '67.

Exactly. Ford replace a function, not a part number. They were not supporting concourse grade cars in their service programs.

Probably not. Your six cylinder engine design was a couple of years old, 1965 Mustangs used it plus other Ford vehicles. The original dipstick might have a had a C5xx- part number. 
I'm patiently waiting for other 1966 six cylinder Mustang owners on this forum to go to their cars, pull the dip stick and take a look.
