preaction : In an attempt to help you with Part Numbers for the Intake Manifold, Carburetor and Distributor for your December, 1966 built, GT with 390, I have used my 1967 Master Parts Catalog, 1960-68 Master Parts Catalog, and a listing of Ford Casting Numbers that I obtained in the late 1990’s.
First, a couple items of General Information :
1) When I note “Part Number”, it is the Ford Service Part Number (what you
would ask for at the Parts Counter), as opposed to the Assembly Line or
Engineering Part Number.
2) When Casting Number is noted, this also includes stamping number (in the
case of the Distributor, and sometimes the carburetor base).
3) Tag Number refers to the number stamped on the aluminum tag held onto the
top of the Carburetor by one of the Carburetor’s top cover screws.
4) On the Carburetor and Distributor, it does make a difference if Automatic or
Manual Transmission, and if with or without Thermactor Emission. For this
reason, I have included all scenarios in case others need this same information
but do not have the same configuration as you.
5) For some reason (accidental omission, undecided, or ?), the 1967 MPC (Dated
January, 1967) has no listing for a Carburetor for a 390 in a Mustang (yet it
does list the Intake Manifold).
The above being said, here is what I’ve found :
INTAKE MANIFOLD
P/N - C6AZ-9424-K (11/01/66 to 09/11/67)
C/N – C7AE-9425-E with a large “S” to its left.

C/N – C7AF-12127-U or V
All Part Numbers for the Intake Manifold and Distributor were confirmed in both the 1967 MPC and 1960-68 MPC.
Carburetor Part Numbers were confirmed with the 1960-68 MPC and the Listing of Tag (Casting) Numbers.
Casting Numbers for Intake Manifold only from Listing of Casting Numbers.
The 1965-72 MPC was not used as by its printing (1975), many original Part Numbers had been Superceded or Replaced by newer Part Numbers.
All numbers have been confirmed by at least 2 of the 3 sources noted except for the Casting Number for the Intake Manifold, which I only found in my Listing of Casting Numbers.
I have tried to avoid mistakes in copying numbers in assembling the above Summary by going back to double check each item listed after creating the Summary noted above. However, it is still possible that I may have made a mistake. Thus, additional information, along with its documentation should be looked at and confirmed.
Hope this helps.
