69 Mustang Wiper Arm Finish

June of 69 Dearborn  shelby . What finish are the wiper motor arms supposed to have??

It is easy to ruin them and make them too shiny if you polish them.

I think the question was on the arms under the dash, not the wipers outside the windshield.

Those were a darker plating . They were not painted from the factory. Not black oxide . A dark bronze plating more like. I could see why it could be mistaken for a satin black.

I would like to know myself. I have found enough originals that still had good plating to solve my problems. That is what i would suggest doing if you want it exact bronze black look. You may get to something close by gun blueing but it will not be exact. Most people are not aware of what original looks like so most likely not many if any will know the difference camouflaged under the grill fins of the cowl.
