Here are some pics of our Autolite 4300  C8 ZF-D. Did we miss any thing?

Looks pretty good!.. I was lucky enough to snag an early take off C8ZF D carb. I noticed on my carb that there were a few markings though not sure what they were other than maybe QC?? Also, my carb had plastic "limiters" on the mixture screws under the front. I would think they would be "concourse" but let's see how others chime in... I can supply pics if needed.

Looks great - really like the body color

A few things I see - based on other original and NOS examples

1- fast idle arm and adjusting screw were zinc not dichromate 

2- Interesting that your choke body is one piece with the threads in plastic. Have normally seen the bonded (epoxied) brass threads

3- The "valve" between the secondary openings on the ones I have were dichromated. It may just be the angle/photo since it looks gold in the side angle

4- Nut on the anti-stall on mine are zinc

5- The secondary stop "arm" (on the passenger side end of the secondary shaft) is dyed red on some  the NOS ones I've got r had








Now you need to find the plastic limiter caps for the idle/bleed screws ;)

Hard to compete with NOS boxed in 68 - 69 :)  but yours doesn't look bad at all

Got to love the new spring retainer/attachment location   ::)

See it has the same choke cover.

The choke cover is a service part. It is hard to find nice originals. Speaking of hard to find anyone have the plastic mixture screw covers?

 Yeah, purchased the carb from Ebay years back and never touched it.. I was told it was used on the prior owner's 68 J code only for a few months until it was swapped out for a Holley..

Can't say I have seen caps for sale , and I'm sure they are hard to find as they seemed to have gotten tossed early on. I have a set of blue caps , though not sure why there were white and blue caps??? Either way, always good to have an extra set on hand. ;D

Coincidentally the later Holley replacement caps are blue also .

The little plastic limiter  replacement caps used to come with rebuild kits when these and other carbs were still only a year or two old.  The color of the cap indicated that it was a replacement and the carb had been apart.  The originals were a whitish or ivory while the replacements were bright colors and I think they would vary in color by carb kit vendor and carb type.

Pretty much - if you want the official explanation sire its in one of my handbooks or articles

Excerpts from the 1968 Vehicle Emission Control Systems - Training Handbook 5000. Specifically states that service caps are colored plastic.
