Topic: Fastback Rear Seat Bottom front floor brackets long gone.

My son while in high school and I rebuilt the body of his K-Code.  Several donor cars were used involving several hundred spot welds cut out and wire welded back in to closely duplicate original spot welds.  He and I both learned wire welding plus many hours and months working together.  Priceless.  Guidance from an experienced body man was our saving grace.  Went to install the rear seat bottom and realized the front brackets now in the fastback were the same brackets that came from a coupe rear floor pan section we used.  The original fastback brackets are long gone.  Ford parts shows the fastback brackets have a different part # than the coupe/conv.  I'm going to remove the coupe brackets that are in the car and try to locate a fastback with access to the rear pan to see what they should be.  Hopefully, also get some measurements on exact locations.  Does anyone know of a supplier of these two brackets new or used?  Can the coupe brackets be refabricated to match the fastback brackets?

I believe you are talking about the 90* bent brackets that support the flat rear deck, right?  If so, they are not reproduced.  I had to replace one in my car, and salvaged two from a parts car.  I have since given away that spare bracket.

Its the front bracket the seat hooks onto to hold it down.  The wire on the bottom of the seat is about four inches to the rear of this floor bracket when the seat is in place.  I checked two other fastback seats I have in parts and they are identical to the one I am trying to install.  I'm not sure what is correct as I'm definitely missing some information.

Your top picture is a bit confusing for me. The front brackets should face (the latching end) towards the rear of the car - towards the insulation pad and away from the opening of the notch cut in it

    The open end should face to the rear in order to catch the seat retaining wire.  Your floor brackets also have a hump, at the end, that mine don't have.  Just took these pictures of my car's rear seat.  They will give you something to compare to ?   Brian

My question is answered.  The brackets were welded in backwards.  I'm not telling my son as I also should have caught that.  Brian, thanks for that last measurement.  It looks like 12 inches from the muffler bracket bolt to the front edge of the seat bracket now facing rearward.  I'll tack them in at that distance and see how the seat fits.  I'll need to redo the bottom side floor pan paint but I should be able to spot that in.  Now I can sleep tonight even if my Royals did lose.

The "hump" is just the lip or catch built into the piece. Owners can bend them up when their forcing (read big pry bar) trying to get the rear seat out without forcing it rearward first

At least its a small fix
