For a 1966 289 Automatic, is there a difference in brake pedal assemblies between a drum power brake system and a drum manual brake system? I am asking the question because the brake performance is very marginal on the car. Yet the master cylinder and booster have been rebuilt, the wheel cylinders are new, the lines are new, it has been bled several times. So I am wondering if somewhere in a prior ownership the brake pedal might have been changed or that this was a manual brake car that was converted to power. The car stops in a straight line but the distance is excessive. It has long pedal travel and it is impossible to induce lock-up. Any thoughts on my next step? Thanks!
