How can I find the right position for drilling the hole?
From how I understood the situation the bracket will cover the body holes and would make it difficult to determine the correct position for drilling....

Be creative.

One half of the frame bracket is removable. Use a long center punch or simply puff a witness mark using a spray can through the hole. Use measuring calipers to obtain "center", drill one hole first and reverse the process for the bolt-on end.

Oh yes, forgot that they are a multipiece design!
Thanks a lot for explaining that to me!
Much appreciated!

Someone in Germany offered me original chassis mounts from a 1966 V8.

Would they solve my problem?

This Ebay seller has what looks like a serviceable pair of used -E insulators.
His ad is mistaken in the application as being for convertible.  They are for coupe or fastback.

See attached pictures from the eBay listing, in particular, pay attention to the details regarding the frame brackets.

You will perhaps notice where the UPPER holes in the plates are different. That is the only difference in the plates, that is ...the difference is only where those holes are drilled (factory punched them out but you get the idea).

Perhaps they will. See the pictures attached and see if the 66 brackets are different than yours are.
If you use the ones you found in Germany, remember what Bob said here...
The 67-only small block brackets fetch a good penny when sold as "For Big Block Use".

...FYI people sell the 67 chassis side mounts for use on 67-70 big block Mustangs.

Just to be clear on finish of the STEEL portions of the insulators for these small blocks,
a.) ALL LOW GLOSS BLACK? -or-
b.) Rubberized coating?

I am pretty sure we covered this before but which thread of many is it in?

I have seen the engine side rubber insulator/engine mount two ways . Typically I see them painted black or rubberized black on all but the ears that the bolt goes through being bare steel. Or to a lessor degree others are all semi gloss black. The chassis side brackets are typically painted semi gloss black bare steel.

Woops . I was asleep at the wheel. The chassis side brackets were bare steel typically and not painted. Sorry about that

My interpretation was you meant the "ears" of the insulator that the long bolts pass through were SGB. I thought they would be more on the side of low-to-no gloss black. Please clarify that if somehow the waters were muddied.

I am asking for recommendations (per John's first images of the thread added here to review) PLUS I have added a picture of what I currently have (attached in the last image).

Furthermore (off thread but relevant), aren't the bolts and lock washers supposed to be a zinc plating? AMK provided bolts (seen in last picture) are clearly Phosphate & Oil, I believe they are incorrect.

My fault , the bracket that is bolted to the chassis is bare steel. I have seen the rubber engine mount that is bolted to the engine block two ways .Most typically the rubber portion is of course black and that rubber black transitions to bare metal at the point where the portion that has the holes in it that hangs down (ears) is bare metal . The way that is less typical for the rubber engine mount bracket is all black.
