1965 Original Factory Single Exhaust Parts Needed
« on: August 03, 2015, 01:53:46 PM »
Hello everyone,

I'm looking for the next items to complete my original 1965 Mustang Single Exhaust System. If someone have some parts or knows who can have them please let me know.

1) Resonator
2) Two clamps (identical to the original ones that I attach --- I just have two).
3) Muffler with its original tail pipe (complete unit).

The parts could be NOS or a good condition used one. It doesn't matter. Then only thing is that I don't want a replacement original part; I want the original factory part.

Thank you,
Luis

1965 WW Hardtop, 289-2V, 3-speed manual transmission. Unrestored. Assembled in Mexico on the time frame of: Oct 64-Feb 65.

A correct muffler will be very difficult to locate.

Also, just FYI (and you may already know), but early 65 cars did not have a resonator.  Believe the changeover date was around Oct/Nov '64.

+1, I haven't come across one in the last few years of parts searching.
I used Precision Exhaust in Ashford, CT -  http://www.precisionexhaust.com/
Dave is a pleasure to deal with, pics attached of the exhaust he fabricated for me, pipes are 14 gauge aluminized steel.
