69 spring perch stampings
« on: July 30, 2015, 11:55:34 PM »
I am soaking my spring perches in evaporust tonight.  I noticed two stampings on the side of each one. A bug on each side. Hoping to read it tomorrow.  As Jeff said before, it's not what's the but what's not supposed to be there. Ju n e  69 dearborn supposed to have any stampings?

Vaporust done. These are  ford stamped spring perches. Both have "ford" in the proper font stamped on the side. Additionally they have a square stamp with a kind of S symbol in the middle. These are somewhat pitted. Found a place in Stockton called Rare Parts Inc. that will restore them. Anybody have experience with them?

If somewhat pitted I would consider others that aren't before investing more money into them and have them look mediocre because of the pits.

On the original spring perches you will see two or three variations during this time with the main difference being the square versus round Ford oval stamping.  I agree that you would want to get a clean set to start with.  The spring perch bushings are sold thru NPD and just need to press out the old and press in the new ones and play around with getting the finishes correct.

+1   No real way of hiding flaws in most suspension parts

And since no one has posted a picture yet  Here's one :)

From a March 69 Dearborn built car.  Believe my April Dearborn matches the marking also

Sorry for the reflection from the one
