That is the responsibility of the sanctioning body, MCA, SAAC, etc, to modify their rules. In the case of the MCA, rule changes can be easy and difficult at the same time. Ask Charles and Jeff.

I could not agree more. I feel as though you misunderstood my comment. The comment was my opinion and the "we" was the people in this conversation.  I am intimately familiar with rules changes in all of these organizations, as I have judged in all them for decades.

Just ask the people who show up to these events with ten spokes on 1968 Shelbys if online discussions like these have any effect on the rules .

The way these organizations handle these items and select judges reflects back on them.

Back on point, in my opinion, the rules should allow for antennas in either location. I do agree with Mr. Gaines, it is more likely they were mounted in the front, at the beginning of the production year.

I would like to thank all that commented on this thread, I found the different points of view interesting.

There is not time for this kind of discussion on the show field. As a newer Shelby judge I wish there were more training session and informal times for the old guard to pass some of the tribal knowledge on to the next generation. I have judged 67-68 Mustang classes for many years and found the dynamic in the 67-68 Shelby classes to be much different. Most of the MCA classes have judges that are car owners that are showing their car in another class. So the I judge yours and you judge mine system works pretty well. In the Shelby classed it seems that the owners do not participate in judging and even send their car with a restorer or respective. For the most part the judges are a small group of experienced restorers that are busy with their business and other clubs making some national show lacking of deep expertise. I am very grateful for this forum to tap this knowledge when mine is lacking.
Thanks Marty
