I'm getting ready to apply rear wheel well coating and here:................
..............from this 67 SJ rear wheel well thread:

I see no sealant at the outer rear seat belt anchor. And, you appear to mention just the inner anchor plates on purpose.
What about these rear outer anchors? Are they sealed or is the rear wheel well coating supposed to act as a sealant (and it didn't really work)?
Yes I try to be specific when I can.
The rear outer seat belt anchors were not sealed line inner ones (chalked then brushed after the painting all took place)
The overspray from the rear wheel well application of sound deadener is not consistent enough IMHO to suggest that one of its side benefits was to seal the anchors. Here are three patterns that may suggest that certain workers each had their own typical practices.
One where the sound deadener does not get to the anchor and barely any frame rail or floor in that area.
Couple where the worker caught only the edge of the bracket/ anchor but coated the frame. Possibly stood more towards the side of the pit or used a different hand.
Couple of examples where the worker appears to have made a short pass that resulted in coating of the anchor and frame rail as well as surrounding floor section.
Hopes this helps
