Topic: 390 choke spring identifcation

I have noticed that the choke spring in my C7OF-D carb has a number on it, 132 ,  and as I looked at other springs I have seen others such as 115, is there a source to check for proper application, its not in the shop manual. It does have the correct choke housing 57MI.

This is what's in the '75 MPC. Shows recommended replacements - does not necessarily mean these are what was on the car from the factory for these apps. Your carb is listed as a 20H, so look in column H.

I just started a thread yesterday about some info I found in the shop manual on choke covers. A few others added info and it looks like it will hopefully lead to a more comprehensive article on the subject.

I saw the post about the covers, and I saw the  info in the shop manual and thought those were the markings on the spring until you wrote these numbers were on the choke housing, I was confused until reading your post, thanks.

Oh, you mean a marking on the actual spring, not the cover?

Yes, I was having problems with setting the choke and with looking close I found there are numbers stamped on the top of the spring. the one I was having a problem with was marked 132 on my C7OF-D carb and another 68 service replacement 715 CFM carb I had, had a 115 marked spring. My C7OF-D spring was bent or damaged so my search was on for a new one. I even called holley and the guy went in the back room to look for a paper that had the original spects, it was missing it would have had the spring number so he said.
