The repro consoles are made for coupe / fastback and the base will need to be modified to fit a convertible which is not a big deal.

Comming back to this point.

Does anyone know, how the ACP repro console needs to be modified fitting to a convert tunnel?
Pictures would be highly appreciated.

Like converting an original console from coupe/fastback the bottom edge needs to be trimmed to compensate for the differences in the seat riser. You'll need a pattern from an original convertible for that. Surprise they don't offer that :(  as an addition to the item they sold you

I did not buy an ACP console. Just curious what needs to be done on an aftermarket FB/C console to adjust to a convertible.

Since this has been a lingering issue, if it were me I would consider removing the seats, but leaving the carpet in.  Then lay the console in place.  Observe where the console does, and doesn't touch the carpet.  Then take a piece of cardboard, one per side, and cut the bottom so that it is snug to the carpet all the way fore and aft.  Then use the cardboard to transfer the mark to the console, and cut the plastic accordingly.

Thanks for including the pics of the manual, and the associated dates.

We know that items 2 & 3 were revised on 3-28-67 in accordance with engineering change notice CZV1-PF-512234.
We know that the previous revision was on 2-24-67, but don't know the scope of that revision.
We don't know the full revision history
We don't know what the drawing looked like at the times our cars were built.

As we know, 67 was the poster child year for changes.

Maybe pictures will help. Here is a mock up.  This is a fastback with appropriately contoured console where it meets the carpet.

It is my understanding (but not by practical hands on experience) that the contour of the floor is different due to the convertible structural needs. I think it is safe to say that the convertible has "more" structure which results in areas of the floor tunnel that are "higher" than the coupe or fastback.  This means that all things being equal, some of the bottom edge of the console needs to be removed in order for the console to sit tight to the convertible floor.

The first picture shows the area I'm talking about with red lines. 

If you take a piece of cardboard, and put it where the edge of the console will be, and cut the cardboard as needed so that you have a tight profile, you should be able to transfer that to the console, and then cut the plastic.   I would probably do both sides and not assume they are the same.

If anyone else out there has a better idea please chime in.  I have used this technique for other things but not for a Mustang console.

The second picture shows the vertical cut at the rear of the console for clearance for air conditioning. Both sides need cutting.

But the mounting (screw) area should not be modified.

Seems difficult than to line up to fit not touching the fixing holes.

that makes sense.  The area to be cut is probably not in those areas.   If your car has the original holes in the floor, those would be great reference points to place the cardboard and align to the console.

My car has factory AC and the both ends of the console are not cut to fit.

I don't think the console will fit in there without the cuts as shown in the picture.  Even if you were able to force it in there, the air from the floor register would be discharged into the console and not at the feet as intended.

It is not much help this one is a 65 convertible console. It is a different style but gives you a idea of what the cut out is like.
