I started to bleed the motor when I noticed smoke coming out of the right side (driver side) end. I knew then that although the motor was still pushing some fluid it had to be bad. I changed out the motor and the top works fine now.

Two issues with the remanufactured motor. The ground wire would not fit over my stock stud that the motor sits on. The stud accepts a 7/16 nut and the ring around the ground wire was too small to fit over the stud (picture attached). Also, the fill plug is located on the end of the motor (passenger side) vice on the front where it would be more accessible. Not sure how the originals were configured, but it was hard to fill.

All done now and top works fine. Thanks for all the advice.
