The locating hole in the bracket typically indicates that it is a 64/65 vintage. The coil would have a raised bump to orient the coil properly in the bracket. That type of coil was not used after 1965 .I believe the brackets with the holes were still used even after the coils were changed but were phased out in the early 66 production.
Per Mannel (pg 6-30 fig c), intake manifold or cylinder head. If the notch is on the other side, it's cylinder head only. Jim
.............The hole indicates it was for use with a 64-65 coil. So not for a Mustang ?
