In the process of removing 40 years of black paint from my inner fender aprons I was able to uncover the Autolite service decal. I can't be 100% sure it's original, but it's upside down and appears to have been there a looong time.  Anyone else seen this in there restorations?  It's a June 69 Metuchen build.

I have seen this on Mustangs earlier than 1969.

I've seen originals upside down and even on the opposite fender apron.  It's probably the way it came from the factory.

How the car was equipped (AC for this example) sometimes plays into the placement of the service decal it appears for some workers assigned to this task.

For others the side of the car often relates to the specific year and plant

Already at least one thread related to Jun 69 NJ cars ;)

My May 1969 Metuchen has it in the same location.

Here's a post I did on the CJ forum

Thanks for the confirmation guys that this was a correct factory installation.  I've previously owned both 69/70 Dearborn and Metuchen built Mustangs and this is the first one with an "upside down" service decal.

My Nov. 69 build Metuchen '70 Mach 1 has the decal on the front drivers fender right by the radiator support. Glad to know other cars had them placed there by the factory.  Mine is A/C too.
