Thanks Jeff. Sorry for posting in the wrong area... By the way, I noticed in my particular car that there was no red oxide under the white paint in the trunk. Is that normal??
No problem - if the subject covers all years and plants we tend to move/leave them in the general areas of the site - if the details are specific or different based on year, model and or plant they get moved to specific areas so as not to confuse others with different cars.
In any case we don't often get to strip the paint to look under but there are enough cars to support that they painters didn't get every nook and corner in the trunk with either the primer (plenty of upper panels became rusty) or in some cases body color. Though not typical or the plan I've seen original paint cars were only - maybe - 70% of the visible surfaces (standing at the trunk opening and just looking in) were covered with body color. But again - not the nor IMHO
