Topic: Leaf Spring Clamps

Has anyone heard of a source for the correct rear leaf spring clamps for a '65?  I know that Scott at NPD is trying to get the correct "D" style reproduced.  Problem is I need the clamps now.  I do have a lead on some NOS service clamps.  I haven't seen them and was wondering if anyone knows if they would have the correct shaped opening.

Answered my own question, the service replacement parts are NOT the same, not even close!

You mean the blue ones? 

Did you check with AMK?  They used to sell a pretty decent repro.  Jim Cowles has a few sets of the round hole version if you need them:  www.shelbyparts.com

Yep, the blue ones that kind of hook together on each end, not in the center.  Here I was all excited about some great discovery that I had made.  I'll check that other place out too Charles, thanks.

If anyone has them, It's these guys.. They repro the best Mustang Leaf Springs available today-minus your original bottom leaf..lol..  They were also a supplier to the "Big Three" back in the day.

Give them a call.  They can help. There is no one better.  They are your best shot.

Thanks for that Tony.  I ended up getting the round hole clamps from Shelby Parts as Charles suggested.  (AMK clamps had the square holes) I haven't had time to assemble the springs yet but the clamps sure look good.

Gary when you start to assemble your springs just remember one thing, the clamps are three different lengths for each spring pack! Don't ask how I was reminded!

Thanks for the heads-up.  I noticed that when I layed them out recently.  Just no time to assemble them yet.
