68 289 fan spacer length ??

hi,

which lenght suppose to be my fan spacer on my 68 289 ? 3 inch ?

There are three (possibly 4) 289/302 spacers used in 1968: C8ZE-8546-D (marked C8ZE D) is the most common, 2.95 TOTAL length, measure the tip of the piece that orients the fan, to the pulley mounting surface. If you have air conditioning the number is C8ZE-8546-A (marked C8ZE A), same criteria for measuring. The other two are rare, extra cooling and engine rev L15.

If you do not have air conditioning, that appears to be the correct one. The C5OE A and the C8ZE C are the same length, 3.15 inches. What is your concern? I'm using Manell's book and Ford Car Parts and they are confusing.

i do not have a air conditioning, i rebuilt my engine and whant to put the good one ! i need to buy the fan bolts so need to know if this is the one i need to put or a smaller one !
