C6ME or C7MEA
« on: April 16, 2015, 02:24:04 PM »
Hello All,  I have a 67 390 GTA standard interior hardtop built in Dearborn on 2-25-67.  What is the correct block for my car. I have a C6ME block with a date code of 2-14-67.  I purchased the car with the block but I am not certain it is original.  Any info would be appreciated. Thanks FD234

First - welcome to the site

Is the 2-14 date the casting or the assembly date?

Guessing that the 2-25-67 date is from a Marti report (actual date)  and not off the door tag (projected)

I would suggest that you find the assembly date for the engine and post that. It will be a better IMHO indicator of the latest date from the engine plant. Distance between the car and engine plant is small since you have a Dearborn built car but blocks could sit around a while or could be used (built) quickly. The assembly date will be allot of help in answering the question and providing a fairly solid answer or at least possibility
