correct clip for engine harness on tower brace - 65 San Jose
« on: April 16, 2015, 01:57:43 PM »
What is the correct clip to use to attach the engine wiring harness on to the passenger side Shock tower brace. I have two plastic lips that I ordered, but they don't seem to stay attached...

Can you provide more information about the clips that you're trying to install. If they're the ones I'm thinking about they should not be plastic. They maybe rubber coated.

The 1970 Ford Osborn assembly manual shows Ford P/N 95832-S.  AMK sells them.

Neither of those were used on a San Jose 65

Are you asking for your 65 fastback?

If so then the typical metal with the rubber dipped tips/end are what was typically was used

No idea of what they are selling or you received

It would help if you tell us what part number you ordered.

Look at AMK B-10723, 2014 Cat pg 144 Ford p/n 372302-S(similar), 372303-S100. The only drawing/picture I've located is in the AMK catalog. They are rubber coated steel (see Jeff's post)

Those look like the ones used in the trunk but with the rubber coating. Not what I've found on Fall 64 San Jose cars as shown below

I had questions on this clip for both my SJ 66 Hardtop and SJ 66 K Fastback, they both came with 372047-S100 clips as shown, the K uses an additional clip for the manual choke cable. The clip "may" also retain the convertible power feed cable.
There is one more clip of this type used on the radiator support by the battery replacing the plastic strap, 376914-S, again San Jose only - unless someone with a 64-66 Metuchen or Dearborn Mustang, or 64-65 San Jose Mustang wishes to contribute more information about these variations.
I did find that my 64-66 Hardware Spreadsheets had documented this variation, but I reworded the application for clarification.

Yes that clip is used on 66 San Jose (change from 65 production) to keep that wire up and away from the battery. Apparently a fix

Yup, just like you, Rich and Bruce showed us 20 years ago. Just verifying San Jose only.
