« on: April 09, 2015, 07:01:10 PM »
Is the crankshaft pulley for the December 1965 built 289 2V with PS, no A/C, no emissions, a C5 or C6 part number? Thanks.

Without power steering, air conditioning or smog equipment the pulley would be a single grove and may, or not, be marked "C5AE-A" per Mannel Appendix B page B-9. The "or not" I found to be strange but that's what is stated in the notes. Same single grove for 65 thru 67.

All that I've had over the years were all stamped but I just took three off at a salvage yard and one was not stamped anywhere.  I glass beaded it thinking that I just couldn't see it but there was nothing stamped.  It was physically identical to the other two that were stamped.

Different suppliers - sometimes (kind of unusual) you can still find some (across the years) that you can still make out the ink stamping of the ID number on

According to Jeff's post, some suppliers used an ink stamp, which is probably long gone on your pulley. If you feel strongly that it is original to your car, I would suggest using it. You may find some cars close to your build date at shows, and compare. C5 pulleys are still pretty easy to find, so you could always grab one and hang on to it though.
