Thanks everyone: non AC, automatic...
IMHO you would be be served by choosing the 1 Gold & 1 Pink stripes applied while the spring is off of the car with the spring either sitting on its side or on the top flat surface standing up
Apply each stripe from (spring) bottom to top direction allowing each of the loops to get some paint as you quickly and not to carefully bounce from spring loop to loop. Should see the brush marks on at least the exiting side of each o the loops.
Approx 1/2" is in the ball park IMHO
Had the source the paint samples from leaf springs to get large 69 examples that would show well. Pink is a little more difficult since lavender (another color used to mark springs) is not that far off
Hope this helps
Jeff, I've seen a number of build sheets that indicate Gold/Pink for 1969 CJ Mustangs with both automatic and manual transmissions. .......
Scott all of the buildsheets I have also show that combination though I'm finding that not all of the unrestored 69 CJ's I'm finding, match this color combination in person. Not sure why and on those cars (not a big surprise) the buildsheet is no longer with the cars. Can't explain it yet - just collecting the findings
But that's another subject
