Do you have a 20 or 24 inch radiator? there may be a difference.

Looking at June buildsheet of a car equipped similar to yours  I would say  C6AE-E for the fan

Don't believe the shroud was every an "option"  from the factory on early Mustangs

Could be a French to English issue here.

A radiator fan shroud was one of the many components included in the air conditioning option.  So not a stand alone option, but technically part of an option.

Since his car does not have A/C that eliminates that viarable.

Other than A/C, are there other options that would have resulted in inclusion of a shroud, for example the often seen "desert cooling" moniker?  I don't recall seeing something like that on the option list, but then again have not gone looking for it either.

To try to complete the picture, did all Shelby's get a fan shroud, presumably for cooling purposes since they were marketed as a performance vehicle (that might need a help in the cooling department)?

Actually it was available as part of extra cooling package option

Since the question is about 68s, yes all 68 Shelbys had extra cooling with 24" radiator and shroud/clutch fan

Don't know where he gets his info from. Might be from another MPC - and we know there are misprints in those at times or just replaced, superseded and what was being made at the time. Looking at the wording used it looks like it's from a MPC IMHO

Have a number of buildsheets (what the workers used to build the car on that day) with C6AE-E I posted. Both auto and 4 speed applications. You have to choose which information you want to follow. ;)

C6AE-E, I am glad that that number is on build sheets. I suspected that the C6AE-E fan would be correct, but could find no supporting information. C6AE-E fan is a 4 blade fixed fan.
