Hello, I hope it's ok to jump on this thread, but I beleive I have a R.O.C. car also. I just found this out when prepping for a new paint job. My DSO # is 721191 with a build date of 16B. It's unit # is 139407. We found some virgin paint during disassembly and it appears to be Madagascar Orange. Is there any way to verify the color, and how many painted this color? Also, are these cars any more valueable than non R.O.C. cars? I do intend to contact John Klein/Mustang Attitude also. Any more info/help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Start with a Marti report. Kevin will ask you to send a sample part with the original paint so he can confirm a match. (As Jeff pointed out in another thread, others have the books too.) One thing to look for on the Marti report is the order type. If it's listed as "STOCK", I'd say there's a significant probability you have an ROC car.
Value is highly subjective. Any cars with non-production paint are less common, which by the laws of supply and demand makes them theoretically more valuable. But the attractiveness of the color will affect the number of people who may be interested. My guess is, a really nice color may bump the value slightly, while a weird one might actually reduce the value.
In my case, WT8095 is a robin-egg-blue-sorta-aqua color. I doubt it would increase the value of my Mustang. But I like the color, and it's something different, so I'm sticking with it.
