How does one take this apart without destroying it

The last time I had mine out, 69, I looked at it and decided ' if it ain't broke ' you know the rest.  Brian

You have to separate the cables from the control or the mirror end. Finished many of them as you show in your picture as the pot metal used at either end is fragile
