What type of glue is used for the plastic guard on the driver side?  Is it the same that is used for the weatherstripping?

Thanks!  Always curious as to why they didn't put one on the passenger side....If it was to protect the luggage from sharp edges, wouldn't you want the spare tire also protected??

+1  Use the yellow/brownish clear stuff wiped with a 1/2-3/4" wide chip brush. Often the area covered by the glue is larger (towards the viewer) that the thin strip of rubber and it allows for quick viewing for judges if entered in a show.

The spare tire works as a luggage protector from the other side and it doesn't move around once in place correctly - so no damage would be expected to the tire

Look for yellow neoprene adhesive on ebay, it's an amber color like original.  Comes in small cans with brush attached to top cap.
