66 Mustang Headlight Harness Holdup
« on: December 30, 2014, 08:23:10 AM »
I ordered a new headlight harness assembly. The firewall connector is different on the Repro. Has anybody come across this? My car has a total of 8 connectors; 6 male, 2 female. The female connectors are set vertical on my 66 mustang, but are horizontal on the repro. Attached are pictures. My car has a background of the dirty valve cover. The Repro still with plastic bag. Where can I buy the correct harness? I don't want to cut up the new harness and splice the old connector on.

I've had a couple of folks over the years complain about the same thing.  The plug with the "vertical" female bullets is for the engine gauge harness; the horizontal female bullets are for the headlight harness.  Once I explained the difference, I heard a "duh" and then a sheepishly given thanks.  It is a common mistake.
