detail questions
« on: December 16, 2014, 09:15:52 AM »
I'm restoring a Dearborn built F code '70 convertible and I have questions about detailing the following items:
Grill support bracket that looks like a capital "D", slop gray?
Engine seperator plate, ford blue or bare?
Convertible floor pan reinforcement plate?
Thanks,
Matt

For that year and plant - slop gray. You'll find a list of the items listed in the FAQs of this section and an illustrated article for the site is forthcoming ;)

Engine separator plate, ford blue or bare?

Both. Plate was attached to the engine when it was painted so typically you had paint on the outer edge and any surfaces showing forward along the top and sides. And when painting the oil pan plenty of paint on the lower face and edge. Workers were directed to make sure that the amount of paint applied to where the starter was going to be attached was minimal in that area while still painting the bottom of the block and oil pan in that area

Convertible floor pan reinforcement plate?

For that plant and year slop gray
