Dimples in trunk floor above fuel sender wire
« on: November 26, 2014, 01:50:02 PM »
There are two dimples just above the hole for the fuel sender wire in the trunk floor of my 67 Fastback....I have attached a photo with two black arrows pointing to the dimples.  Any idea what these dimples are for?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I wonder if that drop-off is a 65-66 Fastback part also used on 67 that originally had the trap door prop nut inserts attached there.

Have seen this on plenty of 67's - and have never seen it used for anything.

Agreed - likely left over from the 65-66 run/design. Guess engineers saw to reason to change and leaving it saved Ford money since they didn't have to change the stamping fixtures
