Parts ID ?
« on: December 01, 2014, 10:55:29 PM »
I was looking through a few 68 headlight assemblies today and could not find a C7 or 8 engineering number.  What I did see were some SAE- ID's near the headlight trim ring area.  Did the OE assemblies have a cast C7.... or C8... ID casting ?  Thanks,  Brian

Don't believe these were made by Ford and the engineering drawings likely did not require any Ford identification - happens on some parts.

I don't recall ever seeing any Ford identification or engineering numbers on the small black cups

If they had one would think that that might have a C3 or other year identification

Thanks Jeff.  Not the small black cups.  The whole head light assembly does not seem to have an engineering number ID.  Brian

Part I thought you were looking at - just to get on the same page  :)

Lots of parts that make up the car don't carry any engineering numbers. So many names for many different parts its easy to not have a meeting of the minds

Sorry for the confusion.  The ebay example shows the part and the Engineering number location.  Gotta be the most obscure and smallest part number I have seen.  Thanks,  Brian
