Hi Everyone,

I have a p/s pump from a 351W.  I am putting it on a FE 390.  Is the pulley different for a FE 390.

Are you asking if it simply FITS (as in "is it interchangable") or are you asking if it is concours correct?

We would need to know what year the pump and pulley was from and other details. All of the pulleys come into play when your trying to mix and match. Also need to be aware that that the pump housing is most likely different so the low pressure hose attachment will not be in the right/correct location nor bending the best way to eliminate contact with other parts in the area

Guess we could start with what markings have you found on the 390 pulley?

Also,It may physically FIT but there is a different offset between A/C and non A/C engines also. off set determines weather the belts will line up or not .

Thanks  everyone.  The original pump came off the car that is a Dearborn, Oct 31, 68, 351W and non a/c.   The local mustang parts shop give me a new pulley that he said was for a 390.  I'm putting a FE 390 in the car.  I'm going for fit.  He didn't say if it was a a/c or non a/c pulley.  My friend has the pulley so I will have to wait until Monday to get the numbers off of it.  I will keep in touch.

The easiest to find (1968-1971) FE power steering pump pulleys are marked AF and 6AA, I believe that your 1969 S code may have used the 80B for the non-A/C engines. Same as 428CJ.
The AF pulley is for 'with air conditioning".

I verified the pulley has 6AA on it.  I looked at the casting numbers web site and it shows that a 6AA is for 68-69 mustang w/o a/c.  Also they show the 80B is for 69-70 mustang 428 w/o a/c.  Based on this I believe it should work for my 69 FE 390 w/o a/c.  Please let me know if I miss understood anything.  Thanks for all the insight.  I would have never thought about the a/c situation
