Power Steering Index Bracket for a FE 390
« on: November 28, 2014, 11:13:12 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am looking for a picture of the power steering index bracket on a 390 non a/c.  I changed from a 351W to a 390 engine and found out the hard way the mounting brackets are different as is the index bracket.  I have the mounting brackets and bolts.  Is there any part numbers or identifying marks on it.

Thanks  Mark

Mansfield Mustang sells them. http://mansfieldmustang.com/01-26.jpg  . They are the same whether A/C or no A/C .

Thanks Bob.  I pulled a power steering index bracket from a 390 engine at a junk yard.  The carb tag had a D0 prefix so I thought it was a 1970
390 engine.  Not sure what make/model it was from but the index bracket is similar but is in 2 pieces.  Any thought?  I can't see any part numbers
or markings

My thoughts are it is not for 69. I am not familiar with 70 BB as there are a lot of differences I am finding out.
