York compressor markings
« on: December 11, 2014, 12:26:17 AM »
I am replacing my York compressor on my 1966 Sprint 200.  I have purchased a rebuilt unit from Classic Air.  Unfortunately they cannot put the R-12 and Oil markings on the compressor.  Is there a source for those markings?

Welcome!  :)  You should introduce yourself in the General Discussion area and be sure to have some pictures of your car.  ;)

You may have to make a stamp yourself. I don't know of anyone selling them.

Some older info and a picture of a stamp here:

Not commercially that I know of but you can make them yourself. Not many people will lend them out long distances if they made some

These were actually the first stamps I ever made back in the 80's

It was simpler times :)   Used heavy cardboard for the stamp, glued toothpicks for a handle and simply touched then to a bed of paint then applied. Think I did a half dozen cars/compressors with those first ones
