Topic: Rear axel paint and axel ends.

1. What is the paint type for the rear axle on my 65' stang? Looking to see if we are talking about semi gloss or flat or??
2. Were the axle ends painted or bare steel?

One other thing; noticed the u shaped clips on the rear of the axle that holds the vent and brake line. Were these painted over as well? I assume so since there are welded to the axle.

Guessing that your asking about a V8

Semi-gloss black before any bolts or studs added (bare housing) with the face where the third member would attache bare steel

2. Were the axle ends painted or bare steel?

Axles were unpainted except for paint marks sometimes inside the housings

Yes those were welded on before the paint was applied
