« on: April 15, 2010, 05:38:27 PM »
I need a fuel tank sender for my 66.  Prefer NOS but used good condition/working is OK.

Is there a QUALITY repop?  Which One?

Bryan, you can find an NOS one off ebay most of the time. They sell for around $125 to $150.

I understand the repros are worthless.

Just to clarify the NOS ones you find on ebay are almost always C8 engineering number. I haven't seen a NOS C4 marked fuel sender in many years. I find nice rust free ones every so often that I keep for my own projects but they can be found. Just some more information for the conversation . Bob

from memory and im sure jeff and charles will advise if im wrong but there was a NOS C6ZF example recently on ebay which went for $500+ usd. the second one of these i have seen in 15+ years of looking out for one of them.  needless to say i was outbid.  i am like bob collected many used originals over the years which i use on special cars.

the C8 versions work fine but are not 100% correct but 100 time better than the repos on the market.

The recent ebay one was actually a C4ZF.  Quite rare, believe it went for over $500.

Keep in mind the biggest difference between the C8 units and the earlier pieces is the outlet pipe, which would be 5/16" diameter on early cars and 3/8" later on.

Agree with Phill that I would choose a C8 over any reproduction.  John's Mustang in Texas had them in their catalog recently.

Thanks guys for all the highly specialized info.  Looks like my pockets can only withstand a C8 job!!
