Identifying 67 289 Fan and Fan Clutch (and hunting)
« on: September 08, 2014, 08:29:52 PM »
When I disassembled my car earlier this summer, I realized my fan and clutch have General Motors numbers on them (Ahhhhhh!) I now seem to remember doing this in the mid 80's when I worked at a GM gararge, so My-bad!

Looking for part numbers and images of original clutch and fan blades. 289, with air Conditioning and a 20 inch wide core if that matters. San Jose built 11/66.

Thanks in advance.

I presume that it has never been rebuilt.

Got one, I think I got a good deal on the pair up. C6OE-G is on the blades (7 -blades) but the I.D. wasn't located on the clutch. It does look like the photos I saw on Mustangtek.com for the C60E-G

FWIW.  I went through this same thought process on my 390 GT last year.  You may want to reconsider on the fan clutch.  Hayden makes fan clutches that match the original closely.  I was chasing an original (found one) and then woke up one morning in a sweat, thinking about hearing the original or rebuilt clutch squealing.  And watching my 7 blade fan fly into the hood or hearing it chew up the radiator and shroud.  Just my .02 worth.
