'67 Mustang Door Speaker Hole
« on: May 04, 2016, 08:53:22 PM »
Hi All,

I have been looking for a replacement 67 convertible p/s door with the convenience light at the lower section as my car originally had.

I came across this door and was wondering if the hole for the speaker is factory made or not.

I have seen other photos in this forum of the doors that all seem to have the same "hole saw" circle in at least one of the corners and crude cut outs between them to cut out the rest of the rectangle to accommodate a speaker.

If this is the way it was done in 1967 (not a clean punched hole) was this a factory line task or dealership process.  If it was in the factory, does anyone know at what stage it was done - before or after the door was painted the interior color.

Thanks,
Dave

Have you looked through the other related threads with their pictures and information? If not  - might be a good place to start ;)

Just remember; the AM-8Track was both a Factory Option and a Dealer Accessory, and the 8-Track Player was only a Dealer Accessory. This could explain differences in the cut outs.
