Confused About PCV Valves

Which PCV valve would be correct for my 1969 Mustang with a 390 and 4 speed, built in Dearborn on April 8th?

The Mansfield Mustang site says I need part number D0AZ-6A666-A but that's a 1970 part number. Was there another PCV valve part number used in 1969 or is this correct?

Also, I have seen what appears to be a black plastic valve and a metallic PCV valve with this part number and I'm not sure which is correct for my application as I am going concours.

That number is a motorcraft ev50 and you'll see it stamped with a D2 number so it's only good as a service replacement
For show you need the autolite part which will be black and metal not plastic
Sorry don't know that number offhand

They are likely using a Quick Reference Manual from 70 +   or a later printing of the MPC that would show the service replacement pieces

Think the EV-50 is for 70 302's and the 351's  but sill double check. My records show I've got a couple of NOS ones but don't think they are right for your needs. Think it might be a EV-42 (C7OZ-6A666-A ) which is one of the ones used on the Boss 302 also

As  7Lscjracer mentioned your looking for a metal one with the engineering number and the short code on the outer surface

OK if the  books are correct  the EV-42 (C7OZ-6A666-A ) was installed in 1969 until Feb 21, 69 then replaced with EV-50 (C6AE-6A666-B) after that date. This would include your April built car.

So now you have something to search around for - not unusual for these to show up on Ebay since they were replacement pieces so thousands or tens of thousands were produced and distributed over the years. Just make sure your getting metal, AUTOLITE and the right number
