Hope I'm not starting a thread thats already been discussed.
On my April built Dearborn 64 1/2, the hinge pillars seam to have some un-used tabs. Was this a mistake, or have other cars been found this way? I assume were intended to be used to retain the "cage nuts" for the door hinges.
So I guess I have two questions.
1). Should these have been bent in to help hold the cage nuts?
2). How did they seal the holes?
After much searching, I came across an old post of Jeff's showing pictures of an early car. It almost looks like they taped over the un-used tabs. Does anyone know for sure what the technique was?
The black car is my car, and the yellowish car was photographed by Jeff.
