Shaker Trim Rim Stud Repair
« on: July 03, 2014, 11:49:47 PM »
Does anyone have any tips on how to repair/replace broken studs on the shaker trim ring? Mine has one stud broken off about half the length.  I thought about using JB Weld but still have to figure out a replacement stud to use--thanks for the help!

I have not gone out and looked, but an old 69 coupe side ornament has 6 studs. Maybe one off one of those would work?    I would probably finish off breaking it and JB welding a whole stud.  Also make sure the nut will screw on with out much pressure so as to not break it off after all your work.  Just a thought.

Good thought--If I can find a replacement stud that's close in diameter and length I'll try the JB Weld method and see what happens.
