C5GF 12127 A distributor
« on: June 01, 2014, 09:25:47 PM »
Hello, I have located a 4GC date coded distributor . This unit looks to have been restamped to an C5AF 12127 M . I believe
this could have been originally manufactured as a C5GF 12127 A. Is this distributor ruined as far as originality even though you can still see the numbers underneath? Thanks for your opinions.

Any alternation - modification or what ever is visible will impact its use or the amount of points using it might cost someone with a show car IMHO.

Judges have to leave some room for the other guy who's distributor has not been restamped or defaced ( you choose the word ;) and be able to reward them fully. Amount of that "room" would depend on the severity, how many points are in the category and how much they think it impacts the total area

What does it cost to rebuild a distributor and who do you recommend? Any info in this area would be great. Thanks

West Coast Cougars had one on this forum's For Sale section, and I snagged it.  Had it refurbished, installed, and it runs great!  They are out there...
