Battery Heat Shields
« on: May 02, 2014, 10:56:56 AM »
Have been reviewing all previous posts regarding battery heat shields. Were heat shields not found on 67 - 68 S-codes Mustangs?
Thanks,
John

That is one of the cars listed for the application in the 67 MPC. Don't recall if its also in the Assembly manual  ;)

Of course one of the first things thrown in the trash when the battery was changed/replaced.

As you can tell we're still discussing it and trying to all reach a point of agreement - if possible  :)

Are these heat shields available, NOS, used or repro? (Late 68 San Jose S-code, A/C, 4-speed).

reproduction shields are currently very close to 10% the price of a good used one. so unless you are really hanging out for one and search really hard, it may not be worth the effort.

and once you find one, convincing someone to part with it is difficult...

San Jose built (Mid Dec 67) Non GT J code Coupe.
Wimbledon White with Parchment Bench seat,
Visibility Group, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Selectaire Conditioner, AM radio, Heavy Duty suspension, Deluxe Belts, Deluxe Wheel Covers, 3.00:1 rear.

Unique 1 of 1 car. Just like every other car...

I am not sure but it looks like a reproduction by how it is cut.

Or not cut ;) . The long ones like in the picture were typically for big cars .Mustangs used that same one but is cut down. The repros have to be cut down also.

You are right what I should have said it should have been cut if it came from a 67-68 Mustang and that is why I thought it may be a reproduction because most that buy them do not cut them. Thanks for keeping me on the strait and narrow.
