Came across an original 68 GT500KR at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle this past weekend. It's a true barn find. 100% original and hasn't been on the road since 1981. I was amazed at how pourly the stripes were masked off and painted on these cars (refer to pics). Car had a $125K price tag on it and was sold the first day !  I have a few more pics for anyone who wants to see them, but they aren't that great - Chris

First off it is a 67 GT500 and not a 68 GT500 KR . Second those painted on stripes were some that a past owner applied. The car was a nice survivor car quality.

Sorry my bad. Not sure why I was thinking 68 gt500KR. It's obviously a 67 GT500 with the round foglights in the grill. Every green 67 I've seen in person always had  the white stripes, but I guess you are saying that those were painted by the owner as well?

+1   And reminds us all that just because we see allot of certain things on cars we need to remember sometimes they are there because they were popular with PO's and not always factory ;)

Car has been to one or two SAAC Nationals - have a fair number of pictures also. Infamous for the coat hanger antenna :)

Changed the thread title to match the car

First off no foglights on 67 Shelby but high beams ,yes. No lemans stripes from the factory in 67. Possibly dealer installed but yet to see any dealer paper work to support before delivery installation.
